Pan Pacific Hotels Group announces the opening of the 319-room Pan Pacific Tianjin hotel in China. Part of mixed-use development, the hotel is situated along the scenic Haihe River and offers extensive business events facilities including a 640-sqm ballroom and 750 sqm of flexible meeting space.
Northern China’s largest coastal city, Tianjin is 30 minutes by high-speed train from Beijing and is both a major seaport in its own right, as well as a major industrial hub and a gateway to the Chinese capital.
Reinhold Johann, general manager, Pan Pacific Tianjin, said: “Against the backdrop of Tianjin’s booming economic prospects, we are excited to bring the Pan Pacific brand to Tianjin.” The hotel is the fifth Pan Pacific to open in China after four other hotels and serviced suites in Xiamen, Suzhou and Ningbo.
Bernold O. Schroeder, chief executive officer, Pan Pacific Hotels Group, said: “China has long been earmarked as a critically important source and growth market for the group. Since we began operating our first Pan Pacific hotel in China in 2009, we have been actively seeking development opportunities to grow our presence in gateway destinations across the country.
“We are delighted that the new Pan Pacific Tianjin will complement our other properties in key secondary cities to augment the brand equity we already enjoy among Chinese and international travellers. As the Chinese travel market continues to expand and mature, we look forward to riding on the country’s dynamic tourism developments to write the next chapter of our own compelling China growth story.”
